- A Banksy was stolen at the Bataclan Theater in Paris this weekend.
- It is thought that the mural pays tribute to the 90 people who died in a terrorist attack on the site.
- "The work of Banksy, symbol of memory and belonging to all the inhabitants, Parisians and citizens of the world has been removed," the theater staff said.
On Saturday, the Bataclan Theater in Paris announced on Twitter that a Banksy that had been painted at his door had been stolen.
It is believed that the notorious artist painted the woman wearing the veil in tribute to the 90 people who were killed in a terrorist attack at the theater in November 2015.
"It's a deep sadness that touches us today," the tweet says. "The work of Banksy, symbol of memory and belonging to all the inhabitants, Parisians and citizens of the world, has been taken away from us."
According to Reuters, the thieves stole the door and left in a van.
A series of murals, including this work, was painted in Paris last June. Some were screened, but others were vandalized shortly after their appearance.

The illusory nature of Banksy, the rarity and mystery of his works mean that they sell a lot when they show up. Earlier this month, a mural on a garage in Port Talbot, Wales, sold for over 100,000 ($ 129,000).
Last October, an article titled "Girl With Balloon" sold for $ 1.4 million, then broke spontaneously at the end of the auction.
