Alvaro Morata is now a player of Atletico Madrid after completing his loan transfer to La Liga.
The Spaniard has struggled with Stamford Bridge during his tenure and has long been badociated with a departure from Chelsea.
Sevilla would like to sign the 26-year-old, but instead he went to Wanda Metropolitano with an 18-month loan agreement.
Morata completed his medical exams in the Spanish capital Sunday and he was officially announced as Atleti's player on Monday afternoon.
Speaking after his transfer alongside Diego Simeone, the striker said he was anxious to return to the field after a frustrating time in SW6 over the past few months.
"I am very happy, very happy and very proud to be here, I look forward to coaching, being with my teammates and playing," he said. on the club's official website.
Morata is transferred to Atletico after Gonzalo Higuain finally completed his loan transfer to Chelsea on Wednesday.
Higuain initially signed a six-month loan agreement, but the club has the option to extend it for a year or to sign it for a permanent contract.
With the experienced Argentine striker making his debut in the Blues in the FA Cup 3-0 win over Sheffield on Wednesday, Morata could potentially make his Atleti debut at Real Betis on Sunday afternoon before finding himself the former Real Madrid club six days later.
