The Ghana Sports Writers Association has sat on Saturday, May 11, 2019 as the day it holds the 44th annual SWAG Awards. Association President Kwabena Yeboah made the announcement at a brief launch ceremony at MTN Ghana headquarters.
Kwabena Yeboah announced that 34 sports figures and 11 sports organizations have been nominated for the awards ceremony to be held at the Accra International Conference Center in Accra.
He expressed optimism that the edition of this year will be the "best" in the history of prizes and congratulated the main sponsors, MTN Ghana, for their continued support to the badociation .
The veteran journalist also congratulated the sports journalists for their role in promoting sports activities in the country and asked them to do more to bring Ghanaian sport to a higher level.
"This will be another glorious night of pride and history for our men and women athletes who excelled in 2018, as well as for the institutions that have contributed to the development and promotion of sport in the country. And as tradition has always been, we always organize clbad events, year after year. Hopefully, May 11 will not be different. We will do our best to provide our customers, stakeholders and sponsors with the best of the night and an unforgettable memory, "he said.
Speaking on behalf of his company, MTN Ghana's General Service Manager, Samuel Koranteng said in a short speech that the telecom company believed in SWAG's current leadership and would not disavow its promise made to the company. ;badociation.
He suggested that MTN was committed to developing sports in Ghana and would be a partner of the relevant organizations to develop the country's sports.
