Arsenal has less than three days left to strengthen his squad before the 31st January transfer deadline.

At his press conference in anticipation of the club's game against Cardiff City tonight, head coach Unai Emery said the club was working on two-player contracts, with the Spanish desperate to sign a wide midfielder "who can play left and right"

Emery admitted, however, that it was a difficult transfer window, admitting that the club might not be signing. "Nobody or maybe two," he answered the question of how many players he hoped to be signed before the deadline of Thursday. "Between zero and two. If they do not come to help us as we want, we would prefer that they do not come. "

Emery later explained that the club had promised to spend money this summer, although the club has made significant progress in its efforts to strengthen its workforce.

Denis Suárez

The transfer of Denis Suárez from Barcelona to Arsenal could be completed at the time of the coup sending the Unai Emery team against Cardiff tonight.

Barcelona finally softened their position on the fact that Suárez left the club on loan after the 25-year-old agreed to sign a new contract with the club, protecting his value in the next transfer slot.

The idea would always be that Arsenal buys the loan from Suárez this summer, but the clause would be an option rather than a compulsory purchase.

The interest of Arsenal was only in a loan move with a summer purchase option. Short of transfer funds this month, they are interested in Suárez for the versatility that he would bring to their midfield and its potential for improvement.

While he is 25 years old, Suárez actually has only three complete first team campaigns where he has played in the majority of matches, one of them taking place under the Emery orders in Seville.

The news comes after Mundo Deportivo announced this morning that the deal was canceled due to the tenacity of Arsenal football manager Raúl Sanllehí, who refused to include a call option in his bid. However, it seems that the Spanish has succeeded.

Ivan Perisic

This morning, the director of Inter Milan, Giuseppe Marotta, said that the Italian club had not yet received an offer for the Croatian international Perisic, which submitted a request for transfer Monday.

The 29-year-old was an unused substitute for Inter Milan's 1-0 loss to Turin on Saturday. The club confirmed before the match that he had asked to leave.

And Marotta conceded that it would be "difficult" for Inter to retain Perisic.

"It's hard to keep players who do not want to stay but no offers have yet arrived, so the prerequisite for a transfer is just not there," he told Sky in Italy.

"This is also happening at other teams, I am in favor of a restrictive transfer niche, but with the fact that it closes on the 31st. [ of January], many players want to leave their club. "

Arsenal has not yet made an official offer for Perisic despite reported information. They are unlikely to face competition for his signature, but will face problems similar to their long Suárez offer. Inter wants to sell for £ 35m, while Arsenal is in favor of a loan transfer, before a generous purchase option at the end of the season.

Christopher Nkunku

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain got in touch last week about a potential contract with midfielder Christopher Nkunku, 21 years old.

Regular at Emery last season, Nkunku is in free fall since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel in the summer, making only five Ligue 1 matches this season.

Significant development was recorded today: Paris Saint-Germain signed Leandro Paredes of the Zenith St. Petersburg for £ 35m, bringing Nkunku closer to the exit.

Whether or not Nkunku leaves Paris depends largely on two things. The first concerns the future of fellow midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who could also leave this week, although now it seems unlikely.

The second is the nature of the agreement that brings Nkunku from PSG to Arsenal. The PSG prefers the cold box. Arsenal prefers a move with a purchase option. Does not that sound familiar to you?
