The UK-based GUBA (Ghana Achievement Awards) Foundation has donated 100 study desks and three wardrobes to Tolon High School in Tolon-Kumbungu District in the Northern Region of Ghana.
This gesture was a reaction to a report by Hashmin Mohammed of Joy News describing the deplorable state of the school, in which students had been forced to live because of a lack of equipment.
Students, the journalist added, were forced to squat or use gallons as makeshift chairs to teach.

Moved by the report, the GUBA Foundation, a subsidiary of GUBA Enterprise, organized 100 offices and three cabinets to donate to the school last Friday.

"It's unbelievable to be able to play a role in helping this school, education is very important, and a supportive learning environment is even more critical," she said.
Ms. Amoateng added, "The GUBA Foundation is very pleased to be able to help these 200 students find themselves in an environment where they can concentrate on their studies without thinking about furniture.
She was grateful to the British High Commission in Accra for helping the GUBA Foundation to organize the articles.
The director of the school, Susanna Pharti Braimah, congratulated the GUBA Foundation for her donation, which would greatly contribute to reducing the stress of the students.
