Eagles striker says competition between him and others is a positive sign for club ambitions
Crystal Palace forward Connor Wickham said the competition in the club's attacking side was a good move to avoid relegation this season.
The 25-year-old, who has just returned from a lengthy layoff for injury, was handed over to Jordan Ayew and Christian Benteke in the fourth round FA Cup win against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
Although Wickham scored one of two goals, his coach Roy Hodgson insisted that Ayew would be his first option for the league games, which seems to give satisfaction to the former winger from Sunderland.
"We have Jordan [Ayew], Christian [Benteke] has just come back and I, we look strong from the back forward, "he added.
Ayew joined Palace on loan from Swansea City in July of last year and scored two goals in 17 games.
