Schalke proposed to West Ham to take Lucas Perez on loan.
The Bundesliga wants to be able to sign Perez on a permanent basis for its contract with West Ham for £ 4.5m at the end of the season. If Schalke were to activate this clause, the Hammers would earn £ 500,000 on the attacker.
It is believed that West Ham is open to part with Perez six months after his arrival at Arsenal football.londres understands that no agreement has been reached between Schalke and the Hammers.
Perez has been limited to 14 appearances in all competitions since his £ 4 million transfer, although he has scored five goals.
If Perez were to join Schalke, he could appear for the Germans, currently 12th in the Bundesliga, in the knockout stages of the Champions League against Manchester City.
Real Betis was about to bring the 30-year-old back to Spain earlier this month, but was unable to reach an agreement with West Ham. It seems unlikely that they find their interest in the closing hours of the window.
