Former President John Dramani Mahama expressed his concern over the Akufo-Addo government's inability to continue the Eastern Corridor Road project, which it describes as a "sad spectacle".

The Mahama administration awarded the construction contract for the Hoehoe-Jasikan-Dodipepeso road and was to be completed in 2018.

However, Mahama said the Akufo-Addo government had stopped work on the road project in 2017.

S addressing NDC delegates to Kadjebi, in Akan constituency, as part of his week-long tour in the Volta region, on the flag-bearers' campaign, Mahama said his government is giving priority to the Hoehoe-Jasikan-Dodipepeso road by including it in the proposed cocoa routes.

He explained that although cacao is produced in the Hohoe area and parts of the Volta region, those who did not know it wondered about the inclusion of this road in the road project.

Mr Mahama therefore urges President Akufo-Addo to remind the contractor on the spot to avoid a complete closure of the road during the rainy season.

In the imminent election of the NDC's flag bearer, Mahama urged delegates to vote for him by printing with the thumb the third place on the ballot.

He said that when he will be elected in the presidential election of 2020, he will work tirelessly to reduce the cost of living high and create jobs.
