Two airframe cushions allegedly found would likely come from the plane carrying the missing attacker, Cardiff City striker Emiliano Sala, British investigators said.

The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) was informed by its French counterparts that the cushions had been discovered on Monday.

The two objects were spotted near Surtainville, in the peninsula of Colentin, in the north of France.

"From a preliminary examination, we concluded that it is likely that the cushions are coming from the missing aircraft," said a statement from the AAIB.

The AAIB will now conduct a four-mile underwater search in search of the missing aircraft, focused on its known flight path and known radar positions.

A private air and sea rescue mission is also underway after more than € 300,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe campaign.

The AAIB research is distinct from private research, but they are now in bond with each other.

"We work closely with those involved to maximize the chances of finding the wreckage and guarantee the safety of search operations," added the AAIB.

"From the moment we have been informed of the disappearance of the aircraft, we are examining the possibility of conducting underwater search of the seabed to recover the wreckage of the aircraft. ;aircraft."

Sala, with his pilot David Ibbotson, disappeared Jan. 21 as he flew over the Channel Islands. The Argentine striker had made a club record transfer to Cardiff a few days ago.
