The court granted the ex parte application for an injunction after reading the plaintiff's affidavit, Eric Amon Neequaye, in support of the motion and after hearing the brief of the plaintiff's attorney, Jonathan Sarblah.
The order seen by 3news.com states that the defendants, KNUST, and its affiliate, the African Institute of Sanitation and Waste Management, are not allowed to hold a handover ceremony. diplomas and / or convocation scheduled on Friday 1st and Saturday 2 February 2019. without the inclusion and issuance of the certificate to the applicant.
Lawyer Sarblah says that the fundamental rights of his clients have been trampled.
The applicant is a legitimate student of the African Institute for Sanitation and Waste Management, affiliated with KNUST, having fulfilled all the requirements of entry and registered on October 8th. 2015.
He was admitted to a postgraduate degree in urban planning, environmental remediation and waste management for five months.
He was due to graduate and obtain certification in November 2017, according to a letter of attestation that was given to him on August 29, 2017.
However, KNUST failed, refused and neglected to graduate and certify the applicant for a program that cost him 25,000 GH ¢.
Even a letter of January 16, 2019 from his lawyers to the school did not receive the required attention.
