NXT TakeOver: Phoenix is over on two championship changes. Johnny Gargano finally won his first major singles gold medal, winning the North American Ricochet NXT Championship. The War Raiders also attacked the Undisputed era, winning the NXT Tag Team titles.
Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke played in the NXT Women's Championship game in Phoenix, allowing Shayna Baszler to start again with the title still wrapped around her waist. Tonight, the Sky Pirates have sought to punish them for their constant interference. In addition, we witnessed team fights between Street Profits and Forgotten Sons, who attacked Dawkins and Ford last week after their match.
Sky Pirates (Io Shirai and Kairi Sane) vs. Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir
The last two members of the Four Horsewomen played a vital role in maintaining the NXT Women's Championship at Kairi Sane. Now, with Io Shirai by her side, Sane continues to try to take revenge on the deadly duo.
Io Shirai quickly sent Shafir in her luggage, forcing her to identify with Jessamyn Duke, and Shirai also at Sane. Duke immediately dropped Sane, and the two competitors exchanged, turning against an attack on the ground and the pound. Sane got up and nearly cornered Duke with a schoolboy on the springboard.
Sane scored at Shirai, and the two women zoomed around Duke, avoiding her huge movements before going down and throwing her out with a double dropkick. Shirai attempted to continue the badault, but Shafir prevented it, allowing the duo to return to the match, slowing the pace. A carpet of Shafir was worth two shots.
The duke came in, hitting Shirai in the abdomen while Shafir held her in a choke position. Shirai tried to make her way to Sane. The duke's duke took her in a butterfly stretch, and then went through the ring with a super butterfly.
Shafir came in, but Shirai managed to get under his clothesline, to Sane. Sane went down with a dragon screw, followed by a neck clip. Shafir grabbed him and sent him into the curtain, but the old champion cut her in half with a spear. Shirai dropped Duke off the apron and threw Sane upward to nudge him.
Shirai knocked Duke out with a suicide dive while Sane trained Shafir in his corner for InSane Elbow Drop and victory.
Results: Shirai & Sane defeated Duke & Shafir by falling on pins.
After the match, Mauro Rbadlo, Percy Watson and Nigel McGuinness recapped the NXT North American Championship game with highlights.
