West Brom's mixed transfer news faces deadline

Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen is expected to stall West Brom as he gets closer and closer to goal for Fenerbahce.

Aged 28, Isaac Hayden of Newcastle was a target for the Baggies as the club sought to strengthen their midfield ranks.

But reports suggest that Johansen is tempted by a move abroad, even though Fenerbahce is languishing at the wrong end of the table.

Albion is desperately seeking reinforcements and has also been linked to Kevin McDonald, the 30-year-old midfielder who also has interest in Nottingham Forest.

Nathaniel Chalobah is another option as he plans to transfer a loan to Watford before the deadline of 23 hours.

To get closer

According to reports, West Brom is about to land Newcastle striker Jacob Murphy.

Several national media say the 23-year-old will be allowed to move to Albion after Rafa Benitez has been able to strengthen his team.

Newcastle has hired Miguel Almiron for a record 20 million pounds, freeing Murphy.

As a result, he is expected to sign a loan agreement until the end of the season, ending the Baggies' quest to replace Harvey Barnes.

Murphy joined Newcastle in the summer of 2017 and made 28 appearances. However, he has only played 13 times this season with the loss to the FA Cup in Watford on his last start.

His last Premier League game was played in Chelsea on January 12th.

He has proved himself in the league, having scored 11 goals and 9 badists in 46 group matches with the Canaries and on loan at Blackpool.

Speaking of his efforts to strengthen his team, Moore said, "We talked about bringing in players.

"The players we have identified will, in our opinion, help the group and benefit the team.

"It's a lot harder than talking to me because there are a lot of things to go through.

"But we are working very hard to improve the team and get a little more body, because at this time of year, like everyone else, we have blows, injuries and suspensions.

"It's important to strengthen if it's possible."

Albion has already loaned Dwight Gayle to Newcastle and, although Premier League clubs are not allowed to take more than one loaner from the same club, EFL clubs can do so.
