News about Arsenal transfers: Sky Sports pundit discusses two possible agreements after Denis Suarez | Football | sport

It is the opinion of Sky sports Matt Murray, former Wolves goalkeeper.

Barcelona confirmed Wednesday that Suarez had made a loan transfer to Arsenal for the rest of the season.

The Gunners have been badociated with many other players, including Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, and Dalian Yifang star Yannick Carrasco.

Carrasco seems more likely to join the club than Perisic before the deadline of 11 pm, as Inter does not want a loan agreement with Perisic.

Murray says Perisic would be exactly the type of player Arsenal needs.

But he also believes that they need to improve the back and think that Chelsea's defender, Gary Cahill, is an option.

"Perisic is a leading player, so you can understand why Inter did not want to let him go," Murray said.

"He was also great at the World Cup, so I think he would have provided what Arsenal needed.

"I'm always surprised they did not register and they do not have a defense lawyer. I really, really thought that they would go for that.

"Even someone like Cahill, would Chelsea allow it? We're talking about him maybe going to Fulham or somewhere like that.

"But I just thought it would be something that they were trying to do.

"But Perisic would have been fantastic in the Premier League.

"But the fact that it's a loan for a permanent, I can understand why Inter wanted to keep it."

"With Suarez coming in, they know what they are doing, [Unai] Emery knows his goals, knows the market.

"Will this be an exciting rookie for Arsenal and can they rank in the top four?"

Arsenal are back in action this Sunday when visiting the reigning champions Manchester City (16:30).
