Video: A new 550 meter high tower in Dubai

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Sovereign of Dubai, inaugurated Thursday Burj Jumeira, the new tower to be built in the Al Sufouh district of Dubai.

Accompanied by Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai International Marine Club, and Abdulla Al Habbai, President of Dubai Holding, Sheikh Mohammed reviewed plans for this unique tower and its surroundings, which will be known as name of Downtown Jumeira.

Sheikh Mohammed described the Jumeira tower and downtown as a continuation of Dubai's vision to become a city of the future characterized by its intelligent design, cohesive infrastructure and network.

Downtown Jumeira, under development by Dubai Holding, will dramatically improve surrounding areas by creating a vibrant and comprehensive community that will accommodate the different lifestyles of its residents. Its centerpiece, Burj Jumeira, will become a new attraction and landmark for Dubai, attracting both residents and tourists alike.

Construction will begin immediately as the first phase of development will be delivered in 2023.

Overview of Burj Jumeira

Burj Jumeira rises 550 meters and is strategically located in front of Sheikh Zayed Road in Al Sufouh. The design of the tower is inspired by the harmonious undulations of the desert sand dunes of the United Arab Emirates and its flowing oases. The tower's facade will be covered with digital displays that can be used for various occasions and celebrations, reinforcing the role of the tower at the heart of the Dubai community's activities.

The crown

At the top of Burj Jumeira lies the crown, which has the inherent flexibility of organizing various events. From a height of 450 meters, it is able to expand to suit different capacities and uses, the interconnected sky-lounge and sky-restaurant offering the opportunity to accommodate larger events. The state-of-the-art technologies deployed inside the crown make it possible to transform its internal surfaces into totally immersive and interactive screens.

Observation platforms

Burj Jumeira will consist of several observation decks, offering visitors a 360-degree panoramic view of Dubai.
