ABC is seeking John Mayer, a Grammy Award winner, for his next drama.

The network has placed a pilot order for Heart of life, a drama inspired by Mayer's song of the same name.

Heart of life Follows two groups of adult siblings from very different worlds who discover that they are related and must reevaluate everything they thought they knew about their common father. As they explore the mystery of their distinct childhood, they will face the challenge of overcoming the sins of the past and will learn the joys of meeting with a long lost family.

Ben Queen (NBC & # 39; s PowerlessFeatures Cars 2 and 3) write the screenplay and the executive producer alongside Mayer, Melvin Mar (Mute, Jumanji), Jake Kasdan (Bless this mess) and Paul Weitz (Mozart in the jungle, About a boy). The drama is a co-production between the future brothers and sisters of 20th Century Fox TV studio, where Mar and Kasdan are based, and ABC Studios.

"Heart of Life" was featured in Mayer's third studio album, "Continuum".

Heart of life is the eighth dramatic order of the season for ABC. Theater culture is a mix, up to now, of procedures – NYPD Blue and New York Undercover – and the famous soap operas animated by ABC women, including The Baker and the beauty and The love story of the hypnotist.
