Controversies
2008 – During his stay in Portsmouth in May, The Sun newspaper announced that he had cheated on his girlfriend Menaye Donkor, Queen of Beauty, with a dancer, Amanda Jones.
Amanda accused Muntari of having cheated on the deal with a promise of marriage.
She fumed, "He promised me the world and even suggested that marriage could be considered. I feel so silly.
2009 – While he was at Inter Milan and serving with the Black Stars, he challenged Sports Minister Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak for bonuses.
The incident allowed her mother, Hajia Kande Muntari, to state in an interview on the radio that the Black Stars could not survive without her son.
2014 – At the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Muntari was indefinitely suspended by the GFA for slapping a member of the management, Moses Armah – and for damaging property at the hotel Black Stars.
The spirits ignited when the GFA met with some of the team's players to decide how a $ 100,000 head-to-head fee would be paid.
When he was asked by an investigative commission that investigated the case, Muntari said that he had no idea of the use of Skype and that he had not presented any evidence.
2015 – In January, he angered fans by throwing down his AC Milan jersey violently after being replaced by his coach Philipo Inzhagi.
Supporters of AC Milan have reportedly launched a campaign to bring Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari out of the Italian club.
2016 – In June, he apologized for his actions at the 2014 World Cup by officially writing to the Ghana Football Federation (GFA).
In a letter of apology reviewed by Graphic Online, Muntari said: "I write to express my sincere apologies to the GFA and to the entire nation for any embarrbadment that my action in Brazil has brought to the Black Stars team, GFA and my beloved country, Ghana ".
"I've been thinking about what happened and I'm deeply sorry and apologize to all the GFA actors who have been offended by my actions." Ghana has a special place in my heart and I will always be indebted to my country and to all the fans who support me from the beginning, "he added, adding," I'm always available to play with Ghana's senior national team every time I'm invited ".
2017- On April 30, while he was in Pescara, Muntari left a Serie A match in Cagliari after his complaints of racist aggression received a yellow card. He was praised for his actions.
"There was a little kid doing it with his parents nearby," said Muntari, who played for Portsmouth and also spent a season on loan at Sunderland. "So I went to him and told him not to do it. I gave him my shirt to tell him you're not supposed to do that kind of thing. I had to give the example for him to grow up well.
"[The referee] I said I should not talk to the crowd. I asked him if I had heard the insults. I insisted that he had to have the courage to stop the match, "added Muntari. "The referee should not stay on the ground and whistle, he must do everything. He should be aware of these things and give the example. I am not a victim But if you stop the matches, I am convinced that it will not happen anymore. "
