KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (WVLT) – According to the Centers for Disease Control, influenza is now prevalent throughout Tennessee.
East Tennessee has a higher percentage of influenza-like illnesses compared to other areas of the state.
The Tennessee Department of Health reported that 11.8% of patients in Knoxville and Knox County went to clinics for influenza. This is the highest percentage compared to the rest of the state.
The region of eastern Tennessee, beyond Knox County, reports 6.2% of influenza patients.
