Ayawaso Partial Election Violence
The NDC withdrew from the elections earlier on Thursday as a result of violence recorded in parts of the constituency during the by-election.
The NDC withdrew from the poll a few hours after the start of the vote on Thursday, claiming that some of their agents and members had been badaulted by suspected NPP sympathizers.
Some national security agents reportedly fired at a polling center in La Bawaleshie, injuring about six people suspected of being NDC supporters.
The party leadership subsequently ordered its polling agents and observers to leave the voting centers.
Police are currently investigating the case, but no arrests have yet been made.
