Liverpool is facing the prospect that defender Joe Gomez may need surgery after hoping to see him return to action in the near future.
In addition, Dejan Lovren, the central defender of Gomez, was also removed from the decisive match of Monday in the Premier League against West Ham at the London stadium.
Klopp announced last month that Gomez had been away since early December due to a fractured leg. was close to a return to action for the Reds.
His initial prognosis after being injured during Burnley's win was that he would be away for about six weeks. But two months later, the English defender is still not about to come back and fears more and more that the fracture does not heal properly.
Speaking to the speech, he might need a surgery Liverpool Echo: "I do not know, we'll see, it's possible, probably.
"It's not exactly what we want, it's like that. He needs more time. We will see exactly how we do it.
"There were different times when we thought we could do this or that. It will take time. We can not say more.
The news comes at a time when Lovren also suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring problem. The Croatian has not played since his World Cup defeat against the Wolves last month and, although he returned to the bench against Leicester mid-week, Klopp excluded Lovren from Monday's trip to the capital.
Liverpool is confident that the injury is not serious, but it means that Virgil van Dijk will again be badociated with Joel Matip against the Hammers.
And with Trent Alexander-Arnold also still missing, this means that James Milner – back from suspension to deal with the Hammers – will likely be asked to refill in the back right corner.
