Stephanie S. Sullivan, US Ambbadador to Ghana
Stephanie S. Sullivan, US ambbadador to Ghana, condemned the killing of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale, calling him "foolish".
She added that the United States had condemned the act concerning Mr. Hussein-Suale, a young journalist carrying out his duties.
Sullivan said in her first interactive session with the media since taking office as the new US ambbadador to Ghana.
"It was an attack on him personally but also against Ghana's climate of transparency, democratic credibility and freedom of the press," she said.
Sullivan said the United States is and will remain committed to promoting free, vibrant and accountable media.
She added that the Embbady would work with both the Government of Ghana and media representatives to create such an environment.
