Roy Hodgson admits that there remains a sense of concern around the club despite his 2-0 win against Fulham

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson believes his team will face greater anxiety over relegation despite a comfortable 2-0 win against Fulham.

A penalty from Luka Milivojevic and a late strike from Jeffrey Schlupp allowed the Palace to move four points from the relegation zone, which also worsened Fulham's sadness in the last three.

Although Hodgson said he was "satisfied" with the result, he acknowledged that the Eagles' fight for survival was even more nervous.

"It was three very important points but it will not be the first of those games," said Roy Hodgson.

"There will be other big games and there will be a lot of anxiety around the club – you feel it on the field with the fans and the players.

"If we had taken some chances in previous matches, we might not be in that position, but we are, and we will stay there for a while."

"Games like those of today are very satisfying, they are played and not given to you, so when the final whistle is given, everyone should be happy."

Hodgson also agreed with his counterpart Claudio Ranieri that the badignment of a penalty in the 25th minute to his team was the turning point of the game.

"The penalty changed the game and I can understand Claudio's frustrations," said Hodgson.

"But we took advantage and played a lot better in the second half, it took a while, but the second goal came and it was a great relief."
