FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – Kentucky health officials have announced that they are investigating after vaccines administered at workplaces in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio have provoked infections.
According to the Kentucky Department of Public Health, the company that provided the vaccines is Mount Sterling-based vaccination against the site. Most vaccines were administered in central Kentucky after September 1 st.
The agency says vaccines can not only have caused infections, but may have been ineffective in preventing disease. The agency encourages people with infections badociated with vaccination to consider getting another tour to ensure full immunization.
Dr. Jeff Howard, Commissioner for Public Health, said the negative side effects are probably related to improper storage and handling of the vaccine and not to vaccine delivery.
Vaccine symptoms include redness, pain, swelling, and hard bumps at the injection site.
