Is the world ready for Gossip Girl 2.0? In a press tour of the Association of Television Critics for the Winter of 2019, CW President Mark Pedowitz said that there had been "a discussion going on" around a Gossip Girl to restart. Wait, what is it Gossip Girl?
It's hard to imagine anyone who has not heard of the teenage drama at least, but for those who do not, Gossip Girl, based on Cecily von Ziegesar's series of books of the same name, aired from 2007 to 2012 on CW. Gossip Girl made waves for its somewhat outrageous content in its early days, but it was essentially a prime-time soap opera for young people.

it's a great question. If we were to guess, a restart of Gossip Girl would likely involve a new set of teens, potentially in another prosperous borough (or in a totally different city). The problem is that teens (and all others) today have access to all kinds of technologies. Anonymous social media accounts exist at all levels, whereas what would make this one special? It's hard to say, but at least one Twitter user had a pretty smart idea.
Who would come back for a Gossip Girl to restart?
The million dollar question is whether or not it is a reboot with new characters or becoming a Gossip Girl meeting of all kinds. Would we like to see how Dan, Serena, Nate, Chuck and Blair will get away with it less than a decade after saying goodbye? Probably not. There have been many other reboots at the CW recently
Pedowitz may have been questioned about a Gossip Girl restart because of all the constant flow of reboots set up by the network. After 90210 in 2008 and Melrose Place in 2009, there has been a refocusing on new content (like the DC TV universe and many dynamic feminist properties), but this season has Charm restart and Roswell, New Mexico. However, all were based on shows that took place in the 90's (and early 00's). Maybe they should wait 5 or 10 years before getting back to the day, like L & # 39; O.C. and Gossip Girl.
