The Clark County measles outbreak continued to increase with 43 confirmed cases and eight suspected cases on Saturday afternoon.
Clark County Public Health, which announced the count in a press release, has been investigating the outbreak since Jan. 1. The epidemic of highly contagious disease has spread to Oregon and the Seattle area. In response, Governor Jay Inslee declared a public health emergency and the Legislature is considering amending the state's immunization exemption law.
According to the press release, 32 cases concern individuals aged 1 to 10 years; ten cases are between 11 and 18 years old and only one between 19 and 29.
Of these cases, 37 were not immunized and five were not verified. One case involved a person who had been immunized.
Clark County Public Health has published a list of places in the Portland-Vancouver area where people may have been exposed. Public Health has added no exhibition site to the list Saturday.
