Tottenham has had a difficult time lately.
The injuries inflicted on Harry Kane and Dele Alli as well as the absence of Son Heung-min contributed to their elimination from the League Cup and England Cup the same week.
But Mauricio Pochettino's players resumed their campaign, beating Watford dramatically late in the middle of the week before winning a resounding success against Newcastle at Wembley yesterday.
Their 1-0 victory put them in second place in the Premier League and consolidated their fourth place. Pochettino revealed that he had rewarded his worker players for two days of rest.
"Yes, he's going to have two days off, but the whole group, not just him," revealed the Spurs boss about Son's last son, winner of the match.
Pochettino then congratulated Son for his recovery, scoring two goals in two games since returning from the Asian Cup, giving him and his teammates a hard-earned break.
"It's for him, it's thanks to him," he added.
"He works so hard, he always pushes, he never gives up, he tries, tries.
"He is like in his effort with and without the ball, he is very regular and constant and it is the most important.
"Sonny, it's like when you have a battery, you work at work and then the battery is exhausted.
"It's like that, it gives you everything and when it's exhausted, it says" I need to change "or to rest, it's like that."
While the Spurs would probably have taken Sunday after their match, Pochettino clearly manages his team by giving them an extra 24 hours to recover at the start of the week before their clash with Leicester next Sunday.
