Soccer player Toni Harris is far from the Super Bowl today, but her debut in one of the must-see commercials is a memorable feat in itself.

The East Los Angeles College Huskies defensive back, who is on the verge of becoming one of the first women in college football history, is the latest Toyota announcement aired at the evening of the Super Bowl Sunday night. And she hopes one day to play in the NFL.

"When Toyota contacted me about advertising for the Super Bowl, I was literally in the locker room, ready to dress," Harris told CBS News. "And I heard my phone ringing and I saw that they might want to shoot an advertisement for the Super Bowl."

Harris explained that she had been interested in football since she was a few years old and was determined to play throughout her studies.

"People around me did not want me to play football," she said. "They said I could be hurt a lot more easily by playing with guys."

But the challenge only encouraged her more, and she added that she was fired from one football team to another before excelling in high school.

"It was always difficult, but I just tried to make my way, no matter what people said," Harris said. "It's my dream and I'm going to protect it at all costs."

She has now received football scholarships for various four-year programs, but she said her biggest achievement across all of this is to become a model for little girls who dream of shining in areas dominated by men.

"A message I would like to send to younger girls is to keep your dream alive, nothing is impossible," Harris said. "Everyday, not everyone can stand up and be a role model for others, and it's a bit difficult. There is a lot of pressure, but I want to say that I am setting the stage for the next little girl who will become a model to follow. "
