The revolutionary "Lightcycle" fits in natural light and should last up to 60 years.
The international technology company has just launched a new product that, if it keeps its promises, could even be called "innovation". The new "Dyson Lightcycle", a smart LED desk lamp with integrated cooling, is not only designed to be energy efficient and customizable, but it far exceeds the conventional life of a standard LED lamp.
Life up to 60 years
With an average usage time of about eight hours a day, an LED lamp had an average life span of about five to six years. The new smart "Lightcycle" will multiply this value: according to the manufacturer, she wants to bring it to 60 years.
With a brightness of 100 to 1,000 lux, the innovative lamp can cover a light temperature of 2,700 (warm white) to 6,500 Kelvin (pure white), according to the Dyson. Their longevity is due to the "Lightcycle" including a heat pipe that rests directly on the panel with LEDs and dissipates heat. The temperature-related wear must be minimized so that the quality of the light remains constant throughout the service life.
"The right light at the right time"
The "Dyson Lightcycle" is also able to automatically adjust the brightness and temperature of the light to the ambient light or the current daylight cycle. It provides "the right light at the right time," says in the advertisement. Depending on the manufacturer, the age of the user can also be taken into account if you indicate it in the "Dyson Link" application.
In addition, if no motion is detected for two minutes, a motion sensor can also turn it off to save power. The "Dyson Lightcycle" should also be able to charge other lamps via a USB-C port. Cost of the smart office lamp: 750 euros. (Rb)
