Gender minister adopts boy with cerebral palsy and buried alive

Minister of the Status of Women Cynthia Morrison adopted a two-year-old boy who was buried alive in Elmina, Central Region.

The boy, Kweku Lentil, who suffers from cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder, was barely a year old when he was left to die after being covered with earth in an unfinished building.

He was however rescued by workers who were working on the unfinished building and has since been taken over by the pediatric unit of Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

We do not know who buried the boy.

The Minister of Women's Affairs accidentally met the boy when she went to the hospital Sunday to get an idea about the condition of the 5-year-old boy whose left limb has was amputated after her mother-in-law inflicted wounds on a cutlbad.

Mrs. Morrison, stunned by the boy's miraculous survival story, announced that she would adopt her and enroll her at her school.

She said that she would contact the hospital authorities to begin the process.
