Back in the prime of my youth, I found a job at a local mall as a minimum wage cashier in a discount clothing store, imbued with the distinct smell of moth balls. It was horrible. My boss wore a greasy pencil mustache and a lazy eye and was too laudatory about the gentleness of my hands; My only customers were antique, sucking gum grannies who bought pre-soiled bras and underwear from the full car.
Meanwhile, in front of me, my friend Josh had found a job in a chic clothing store primarily for girls in their late teens and early twenties.
