According to health professionals, bad cancer is the most common cancer in Pakistan, with 90,000 new cases reported each year.
The health sector in Pakistan does not have sufficient facilities to provide services to all cancer patients.
According to official statistics, our total expenditure in the health sector is 0.57% of GDP, which is lower than that of all other Asian countries, with an average of 4.7%.
We have a single doctor for 1,254 people, a nurse for 2,671, a midwife for 6,235 and a visiting lady for 18,318. Pink Ribbon is currently building the first hospital dedicated to bad cancer in Pakistan which, after its completion by the end of 2019, should accommodate up to 40,000 patients a year.
