Marko Arnautovic could be in shape for the West Ham match against Liverpool on Monday, while he feared he had a broken foot mid-week.
Lukasz Fabianski (Arm) and Aaron Cresswell (Hamstring) also hope to be available, but Samir Nasri is still missing, with a minor calf problem.
Jack Wilshere, Fabian Balbuena, Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini, Winston Reid and Carlos Sanchez are long-term absentees.
Meanwhile, Liverpool midfielder James Milner returns from suspension for Monday's trip.
He will probably be asked to replace the right-back because Trent Alexander-Arnold is not yet fully recovered from a knee injury.
His fellow defender, Joe Gomez, will undergo surgery to help him recover from a leg fracture.
Gomez was injured in the 3-1 Premier League win at Burnley in early December, and his club said shortly after the early indications made him think he'd be in six weeks.
The Reds made a point on the English international Monday, declaring in a statement posted on their official website: "The defender has been following a rehabilitation program since the initial break at Turf Moor, however, after a more thorough diagnosis, the Club medical staff believes it will benefit from a new procedure to allow for more complete recovery. "
