This weekend has been a busy week in the Premier League. Almost every game starts to play a crucial role in the 4 races. This is the title race in Liverpool, Manchester City, and Spurs, the top 4 of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, the Europa League played by Wolves, Watford, Everton, Bournemouth, Leicester and West Ham , and of course the race to safety at the bottom of which many teams care about. The weekend was filled with thrilling games. Monday's match between Liverpool and West Ham was decisive:

Saturday:

Spurs 1 Newcastle 0:

The match week began in London with the Spurs battling Newcastle at Wembley Stadium. The Magpies had just won a superb midweek victory against Manchester City among all the clubs, hoping for a second consecutive shock against a top 6, facing the Spurs. For most of the match, the cards were in shock: the Spurs struggled in front of goal. Harry Kane and Dele Alli were still away and Newcastle was playing well, especially at the back.

Unfortunately for them, the player who continues to carry the Spurs on his back, Heung-Min Son, scored a late goal to keep the Spurs alive in the title race.

Everton 1 Wolves 3:

Everton and the Wolves needed a win on the other Saturday. Unfortunately, Everton is a little out of gear under Marco Silva and is not just the dangerous attack with midfielder quality that we could expect if we saw the team on paper . The wolves, on the other hand, are as dynamic, direct and dangerous as ever, and we saw it during this game, when they won the match 3-1 at Goodison Park. This allowed them to extend their lead over Everton to 5 points and finish in 7th place. With a match against Manchester City next Wednesday, things could be complicated for Marco Silva and his men.

Chelsea 5 Huddersfield 0:

After their 4-0 defeat to Burnley last week, Chelsea, and especially under-defender Maurizio Sarri, desperately needed an answer to Huddersfield to keep his top four challenges and get back on track. The Blues responded by crushing the 5-0 Terriers at Stamford Bridge. New striker Gonzalo Higuain took a superb start with a double. Eden Hazard also scored two goals. His second goal is a high quality finish that highlights its technical quality.

N'Golo Kante was also very impressive, his help for the categorical opening of Higuain was the highlight. As for Huddersfield, the prospect of relegation begins to weigh more and more strongly and gives the impression of an inevitable event at the moment, while the club is sitting at the lowest, 13 points of Security. The Blues returned to 4th place in the Premier League, picking up their position before the defeat at Bournemouth.

Brighton 0 Watford 0:

As Watford struggles to get that coveted 7th place in the Premier League and Brighton in 13th place, you would probably expect the Hornets to dominate, or at least dominate, the tournament. This was not the case, Watford having only 44% possession of the ball and worse, having failed to get a single shot on goal. It was a dismal performance and they were extremely lucky to score a point, as Brighton played very well and had four times more shots than Watford. Perhaps the absences of midfield personalities Roberto Pereyra and Abdoulaye Doucoure were to blame, but this performance nevertheless worries Javi Gracia. Brighton midfielders and wingers were superb, including Solly March and Pascal Gross, but their generally reliable front-man, Glenn Murray, was unable to convert the chances he had.

Burnley 1 Southampton 1:

While Southampton continues to ride under Ralph Hasenhuttl, they find themselves much harder to beat. This was evident in their draw against Chelsea and their victory over Arsenal last month. Turf Moor is an extremely difficult place to play, but the Saints resisted well. The match was exciting, even open. Both teams had several opportunities to score. It was Nathan Redmond who opened the scoring, thus marking his comeback. Redmond fought hard under Mark Hughes and, with Jan Bednarek and James Ward-Prowse, found his best form. Unfortunately for the Saints, a late penalty from Ashley Barnes guaranteed the sharing of points.
