MacGyver let's not waste time replacing George Eads' latest late Jack Dalton.
The CBS procedure appealed to Levy Tran (The obsession of Hill House, shameless) for a recurring role, with the potential to become co-responsible for Lucas Till, our sister site, reports Deadline.
Tran will debut in the Feb. 15 episode as Desiree Nguyen (aka Desi), who joins the Phoenix Foundation to protect MacGyver and his team in their global missions. Although Desi begins as a recurring character, CBS has the opportunity to make it a regular series if the show is renewed for Season 4.
According to Deadline, the character of Tran will have already worked with Jack off screen of Eads.
As noted earlier, Eads stormed the series program in Atlanta in October, following an unspecified altercation during the production of an episode. He finally returned to the ensemble. Eads reportedly asked to be released from his long-term contract to return to Los Angeles (where his young daughter lives). His last episode aired on February 1, when Jack asked the farewell team to embark on a top secret mission.
New episodes of MacGyver Fridays air at 8 am / 7 pm on CBS.
