The independent AV-Test test institute examined and compared 16 business virus scanners. Categories of protection, system load and usability were evaluated.

AV-Test has updated and released its test results for 16 endpoint security solutions for Windows 10. Has been tested in all three categories of protection, system load and ease of use. The maximum score to be achieved was 6.0 division ranking units. In total, there were 18.0 points to be awarded.

AV-Test tested and compared 16 business virus scanners. The categories of protection performance, system load and usability were decisive.

The "protective effect" category appeared in two trials with around 15,000 pests. In the first round, day zero pest detection was closely examined. The second test was to use a set of known malware to verify the protection effect. In this area, all solutions were convincing and realized – with the exception of Eset Endpoint Security – every 6.0 points. But the Eset solution was only half a point from the competition.

In chapter two of the test series, the system load is checked. Twelve of the 16 solutions tested achieved at least 6.0 or 5.5 clbadification units. Two other programs were awarded by 5.0 meters by AV-Test. The 3.5 points of Sophos Endpoint Security, however, were somewhat disappointing.

In the third and final area – usability – the solutions had to show how they affected the user at work. The best result was found in programs that did their work without being noticed in the background. Among other things, the false alarms for the badyzes and the downloads were examined. In this category, AV-Test attested the very good or good solutions. Almost all received 6.0 or 5.5 pawns. Just behind, with 5.0 recovery units, only the internal solution of Microsoft and Traps from Palo Alto Networks. Finally, Seqrite Endpoint Security scored 4.5 points.

Endpoint Protection Test: Five Solutions Ranked # 1

The average place on the podium in the overall comparison this time divided five solutions. Primarily Symantec with its two Endpoint Protection and Endpoint Protection Cloud solutions, Kaspersky Lab with its Endpoint Security and Small Office Secruity solutions and Trend Micro with Office Sann. All of these solutions achieved the total score out of a total of 18.0 counters.

Really negative outliers did not exist in the current test series. The latest Palo Alto Networks, Seqrite and Sophos, have reached at least 15.5 points.
