The suspect was arrested at the prison premises by two of his fellow officers, ASP Francis Weigam and Chief Agent Gilbert Guru, in the early hours of Monday, February 4, 2019.

According to ASP Sulemana Tanko, a member of the Northern Regional Police, the suspect was seen with a purse in the prison premises and, during the search of the bag, the exhibits were found on him.

In a police report signed by ASP Tanko, the incident occurred on Sunday around 20:30, but the suspect was arrested the next day and turned over to the police.

He indicated that the suspect is in custody and that he will be prosecuted for possession of the substance without authorization.

The case is currently under investigation and the suspect is being treated. He will soon be brought to justice.
