Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has reaffirmed his love of Bitcoin.
Dorsey said he owned bitcoins and that he thought that was the future of the currency.
"I do not see that as an investment," he wrote in a wave of tweets on Tuesday. It's a "currency," he added.
In messages and replies to crypto fans, Dorsey set out his reasoning: "Bitcoin is resilient Bitcoin is principle-based Bitcoin is an ideal for the Internet, and it's an excellent brand. "
He added: Bitcoin will be "Probably the local currency."
This is not the first time Dorsey notes his admiration for Bitcoin. Square, its fintech company, has been supporting Bitcoin for almost five years, adding the motto to its Cash application early 2018, allowing users to send bitcoins to each other. "I'd love to see a digital currency flourish" Dorsey tweeted in 2016.
Investors in the digital currency saw their price explode in 2017, as cryptomania swept the world. Bitcoin started in 2017 with a value of less than $ 1,000 a piece, before rising more than 2,000% to a record high of $ 19,511. However, the year 2018 has been another story. See the table below:
