Conor Maynard told worried fans that he was being detained in the spotlight in Brazil.
The 26-year-old singer was taking Uber back to dinner with his manager when the shock took place.
He claims that the criminal saw the designer's watch from his director when they got into the vehicle and knocked on the window with a gun in his hand.
Telling social media to tell again the horror moment of his story on Instagram, Conor looked grieved as he revealed everything to his fans.
He said: "Some of you asked why I was cutting my trip to Brazil and if everything was fine.
"My manager and I were involved in an incident in São Paulo when our Uber stopped at the red light and we were sitting at the back.
"Suddenly, a motorcyclist parked near the driver's window, on the side where I was also, and started banging against the window.
"We just thought our driver had cut him or something and that he was angry, but while I was looking, he was hitting the window with a rifle in his hand."
Conor went on to explain that he and his manager had no idea what was going on because everything was said in Portuguese.
He added: "The driver panicked, the doors were locked and the motorcyclist could not open it.The driver raised his hands in the air.
"Then the motorcyclist started pointing the rifle in the back where I was standing and was trying to open the back door as well." It was terrifying.
"We started trying to get out of the car but she was stuck and we could not get out because she was locked.
"We started shouting at the driver, but we did not know what to do and he did not understand what we were saying."
Conor said that things reached his boiling point when a hole appeared at the taxi window and that he first thought that a shot had been fired.
Although the hole is actually unrelated, he added that the motorcyclist had also been "scared" and had gone by car.
The YouTuber were then taken to a place where the police could help them, adding that only after speaking to someone in English did they learn that the thief intended to kill their driver. .
"The driver thinks he wants the designer's watch from my manager, he had to see us leave the restaurant because the windows of the car were broken," he said.
In baderting to his Brazilian fans that he still loved the country, he concluded: "I would never base my opinion on a country based on an incident.
"Anyway, I had a great time and I would be happy to play another show."
