CN postponed special commission to February 16
The special competition of the Standards Committee, scheduled to start on February 10, 2019, has been postponed.
This postponement is due to the inability of the committee and the clubs to agree on the venue, terms, by-laws and budget.
This is the third time the competition has been canceled after unsuccessful attempts to start on January 26th and February 3rd.
A new date of 16 February has been tentatively set for the start of the competition.
"We recognize clubs as major players. If our relations are not cordial, it will be difficult to promote the tournament, "said Dan Kwaku Yeboah, NC spokesman.
"We had a long meeting yesterday during which we had to rectify the rules of competition.
"Today is the deadline for clubs whose sites have been reported as not being able to send us updates.
"The games are already done and we are waiting for the clubs to give us confirmation that the concerns raised [by the Club Licensing Board] have been corrected or we should move the affected clubs.
"It's the purpose of the deadline.
"Apart from that, we are planning on February 15 to start the tournament," he told Asempa FM.
Premier League clubs and the NC have already clashed over the terms of the competition, withdrawing first, before canceling their decision after the NC has agreed to change the format.
The clubs have not played competitive football in Ghana since all football activities stopped in June 2018 after the broadcast of the documentary investigation that involved many football officials.
The special competition will bring together the country's representatives for next season's CAF club competitions.
