Earlier in the day, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) held his first live question / answer flow through Periscope. His team prepared several questions for CZ before the feed was broadcast. The set of questions and answers lasted just over 45 minutes during which he tackled the Binance channel and the exchanges, the future of Ripple, decentralization and the Bitcoin fund.
Chain of binance
The first question asked of CZ concerned the number of validator nodes that the Binance chain could execute. To this, the CEO responded:
"I think for the testnet, we chose to run 11 test nodes – I think that any number is correct – the number of validators in our network will be small, mainly for performance reasons. So it will not be as big as a bitcoin network with thousands of nodes, it will look more like NEO or even Ripple … a smaller number of nodes and each node will be rather big. "
Binance exchange
As for the Binance exchange itself, CZ said it was considering some new features that Binance intends to expand.
"Yes, we are still working on many new features for Binance.com.Many features are missing.Once a product is running, it's never finished." [One Cancels the Other] is a feature very much requested by many of our users. We are working on it. We want to support OCOs natively in the match engine. "
Ripple
During the discussion on Ripple, CZ was asked if any partnership projects with Ripple were in use with xRapid. To this, CZ stated:
"Nothing is happening at the moment, but in the future, we absolutely want to add them as a partner."
Decentralization
When the subject of conversation moved to decentralization, the question was rather simple: "Is crypto really decentralized?"
"In terms of decentralization, most people consider it a binary operation, whether decentralized or not. But the fact is that decentralization is a graduation. So you can achieve some degree of decentralization. more centralized. Any blockchain that has a manager or a clear development team, it is more or less centralized in one way or another. So, Binance Chain is going to be a bit more centralized initially in this way. "
Bitcoin ETF
CZ commented on the ETF BItcoin:
"If it [a Bitcoin ETF] is listed on a large traditional market … which attracts a lot of attention from people outside our industry. I do not think ETFs are at the heart of the growth of our industry. With or without them, our industry will grow. I think that for our industry to grow, we need more entrepreneurs to build real projects. "
What is interesting in its response is that, despite the popular consensus among enthusiasts, that the Bitcoin ETF will be BTC's savior and help the industry grow, it's the opposite of CZ.
In CZ's eyes, the key to growth is for entrepreneurs to build real projects.
