According to a report, Manchester United is about to name its next boss after agreeing on a compensatory indemnity.

United's hero in the 1999 Champions League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was brought until the end of the campaign First team coach Mike Phelan will be alongside Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.

And in the middle of the reports, United had has already started the process to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as long-term director at the end of the season, Molde lifted the veil in December on the arrangement that leads Solskjaer to Old Trafford.

Club general manager Oystein Neerland said he was happy to "lend" his coach to United.

"The fact that Manchester United is asking Molde FK to lend the manager is in itself an event and a statement of confidence for both Ole Gunnar and Molde FK," Neerland said.

"We are happy to lend Ole Gunnar, we wish him every success, as well as at the club.

"This is a great opportunity for Molde FK, we think it will grow and it will help strengthen Molde FK's position on football."

A Mirror report, however, brings a turnaround, claiming that the Red Devils are inclined to name Solskjaer permanently in the summer.

United is not convinced of being able to keep Mauricio Pochettino away from Spurs, and Zinedine Zidane's poor mastery of English could mean the end of his chances.

Antonio Conte and Mbadimiliano Allegri are also mentioned, but it is thought that a financial agreement is already in place with Molde if they wish to keep Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

If the 45-year-old stays beyond his "loan" period, United will pay £ 8 million to Molde.
