Nissan has been trying to further differentiate the Rogue Sport compact from its big brother Rogue with a new hood, a Vmotion grille and bumper, redesigned taillights and LED daytime running lights. Nissan has also added a new 19-inch aluminum rim design as well as two new colors called Nitro Lime Metallic and Monarch Orange Metallic.

The most important addition for the 2020 model year is the extension of Nissan Safety Shield 360 technology to all trim levels. The Safety Shield 360 was previously available in the SV and SL versions, but will now be available in the basic S version. This suite of safety features incorporates automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, automatic rear braking, lane departure warning, blind spot alarm, rear cross traffic alert and badistance en route.
