The underlying IP addresses of the Enquirer site are badigned to Amazon. The records badociated with these addresses list Amazon as the owner.

Ryan Huber, a security architect for Slack's corporate email company, pointed to the connection in a message posted on Twitter. Business Insider confirmed the connection.

"Dear Mr Bezos, I will leave this here," he says in a tweet.

Representatives of Amazon and American Media, Enquirer's parent company, did not immediately respond to a request for comment or confirmation of their business relationship.

Last month, Enquirer published an exhibition on the Bezos affair with former TV presenter Lauren Sanchez. In response, Bezos opened an investigation into how information about his relationships, including racy texts, had been disclosed to Enquirer. The Bezos investigator suggested that the leaks could have been motivated by political considerations.

In an extraordinary blog post, Bezos said that American Media, the parent company of Enquirer, had threatened to publish new racy pictures of him and Sanchez, unless he would like to disown the idea that the text of Enquirer was motivated by politics. Bezos said it would have been a "lie".
