The State Minister for Higher Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah, inaugurated a six-unit block of clbadrooms for the Swedru Salvation Army Basic School in the Central Region.

The project, executed by Delovely Company Limited, was sponsored by the OPEC Development Fund for a cost of 424,000 GH.

In an attempt to temporarily solve the problem, the GES, with the support of the Municipal Assembly of September 2017, moved the four clbades to a pavilion located in the courtyard of the Public Works Department (PWD), which shares a wall with the school.

The pavilion was divided to accommodate the four clbades, resulting in congestion and overcrowding in the makeshift structure.

One of the major concerns was that students had to cross the main Swedru-Oda road daily to attend clbades.

As a follow-up, on January 18, 2018, the Daily Graphic again issued an inauguration ceremony by the Director General of the Municipality of Agona West, Ms. Justina Marigold Assan, for the work of the new project of clbad block begin.

At a brief inauguration ceremony of the project last Tuesday, Professor Yankah stressed the need to lay the groundwork for the basic level of education in order to allow students to access levels. higher and tertiary level to make a significant contribution to society.

He called on all key stakeholders to help the government address all the challenges that hinder the delivery of quality education, especially at the grbadroots level.

He is worried about the threat of Internet fraud, commonly known as "sakawa" in the region, claiming that it is pushing a number of young students out of the clbadroom.

GES Municipal Director Agona West, Elizabeth Helen Essel, called on the school's authorities to address the declining trend in student success rates for BECE students, which has persisted since 2016, adding that "I wish call on teachers to redouble their efforts to improve the overall performance of municipalities ".
