As the Venezuelan oil industry collapses under sanctions and economic collapse, President Nicolas Maduro turned to other mineral wealth in his country: gold.
He used it to win allies and raise money. But the United States, who urged Maduro to withdraw, warned those who profit from what they call the illegitimate gold trade of Venezuela.
