David Ibbotson's family has called for funds to fund a new search for the missing pilot.
The body found from the plane wreck in the Channel was confirmed to be Emiliano Sala Thursday night.
A post-mortem examination is now scheduled to take place and a survey could be opened as early as next week.
But Mr. Ibbotson has still not been found, no active search has been planned by the authorities to find him.
His family set up a GoFundMe page, asking for help to "bring him home". You can read more about it here.
Dorset police released a statement Thursday night confirming that Sala's identity had been officially formed.
"The families of Mr. Sala and pilot David Ibbotson have been informed of this news and will continue to be badisted by specially trained family liaison officers and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time," we read.
"The HM coroner will continue his investigation into the circumstances of this Dorset-backed death.
On Monday, January 21, 2019, a plane carrying the two men was flying from Nantes to Cardiff when he lost contact with air traffic control, north of Guernsey.
"Unfortunately, a search and rescue operation did not locate the aircraft and both occupants, and AAIB research teams and private funds were deployed in the area concerned. They were able to locate and identify the aircraft and recover Mr. Sala's body. "
Geo Ocean III – the ship used by the investigators in the recovery mission – is docked in Portland, Dorset, Thursday morning, when the body was brought back to the ground and entrusted to the Dorset coroner.
The British Air Accident Investigation Branch confirmed Wednesday that it had managed to recover the body of the aircraft wreckage in "difficult conditions", while the operation of recovery of the plane was interrupted.
An AAIB statement was: "Unfortunately, attempts to salvage the aircraft wreckage were unsuccessful before bad weather forced us to return the ROV to the vessel. The weather forecast is poor for the foreseeable future – operation is coming to an end.
"Although it was not possible to recover the aircraft, the large video capture captured by the ROV should provide valuable evidence for our security investigation.
"We expect our next update to be an interim report that we plan to release within a month of the accident."
