The SAG voting period ended on January 25, two days after the publication of The Atlantic. As he was a forerunner of what could happen at the Oscars, Malek won his own actor award.
This week, just days before the British Academy Film Awards, BAFTA announced the suspension of Singer's appointment on the grounds that the alleged behavior was "totally unacceptable and inconsistent" with its values.
