Marco Silva chased the referee Lee Probert before Everton left Vicarage Road to ask for explanations on Kurt Zouma's red card.
Zouma was seen handing two yellow cards for dissent while he was discussing awarding a corner that ultimately led to Watford's goal victory.
Everton only partially wiped out the controversial piece and Will Hughes crossed the boards so that the unidentified Andre Gray could join the back post.
The Blues players rushed to Probert and his badistant for giving the corner kick to Jordan Pickford, who let go of Jose Holebas's shot.
Silva and his team were categorical. Pickford did not touch the ball and continued to express his anger after the final whistle – resulting in Zouma's dismissal.
"I'm going to try to talk to the referee right now, he's staying here because I talked to Kurt at the end of the match," Silva said.
Here's how everything went
"He told me that he had received a yellow card and that the referee had given him the second yellow card.
"This is the time for our players to be calm, but sometimes it's not easy and the referee must understand, because many mistakes are made against our team.
"Sometimes it's not easy to understand everything and they can not understand the referee and his badistant.
"It's not a case for Kurt to do something at the end of the match because the match is over."
"What he said to the referee, is what all our players are saying at that time.
"It was not a corner and they asked them to see it because it was clear.

"At the award of the corner, all our players will talk to the referee and, after the goal, they will talk to the referee as this was not a corner."
Everton was looking for a tying goal, but after Lucas Digne had a free-kick, substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin spoiled a magnificent opportunity in the center of Zouma, eight meters away.
"I was getting ready to put Bernard, but in an instant, they scored the goal, but it was not a corner for that moment," added Silva.
"The ball overtook Jordan by half a meter, no one touched him, only the referee saw him.
"After, we reacted well, not with a very good football, but we created enough opportunities to get a different result and score goals here.
"But we were not efficient and that made the difference."
