The validity of the Ghanaian passport is 10 years, from 5 years

The government has extended the validity of an ordinary Ghanaian pbadport from 5 to 10 years as of March 31, 2019.

In a letter dated 6 February 2019, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, addressed to all Heads of Mission, notified them of the Government's decision.

"THE MISSIONS INDICATE THAT THE GOVERNMENT DECIDED TO EXTEND THE VALUE OF ORDINARY PASSPORTS ISSUED TO QUALITY GHANAIANS. APPLICATIONS FROM FIVE TO TEN YEARS (5-10 YEARS) FROM 31 MARCH 2019 ?, a letter signed by Deputy Foreign Minister, said Mohammad Habibu Tijani.

Despite the extension of the validity period of the pbadport, the department maintained the cost of processing a pbadport at the same expense: 50 GH ¢ for regular treatment and 100 GH ¢ for express treatment.
