Napoli lost more points after being held by Fiorentina in Florence.
Napoli could end the weekend behind Juventus by 11 points, after Carlo Ancelotti's neglected team dropped to a 0-0 draw at Fiorentina on Saturday.
Fiorentina goalkeeper Alban Lafont defeated Piotr Zielinski and Dries Mertens, but Napoli failed to score away for the third consecutive game.
"We lost two points that we deserved to attack from start to finish," Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia.
"In a way, it was an impeccable performance, but we were not clinical enough in front of goal and had to get by with one point."
The hosts of Fiorentina drew for the 11th time in 23 games this season. Their best chance came just after the break when French midfielder Jordan Veretout was denied by Alex Meret.
The undefeated Juventus could pull off the double-digit game on Sunday by heading to Sbaduolo in the middle of the table.
