Africa has the second highest number of displaced people in the world, according to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
This figure has recently increased due to ongoing crises in the Central African Republic, Southern Sudan, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Burundi.
According to ECA, the continent is home to about 37 percent of the 19.6 million refugees and 39.1 million internally displaced people worldwide.
